Bowling bows down

by Eric Shor
The WHS varsity bowling team fell to Linden last Thursday 7–0.

Each bowler competed in three games. Junior Sebastian Rojas bowled a team high of 568 including a 223 in Game 2. Michael Roggenburg bowled a 542 with a high game of 191. Andrew Dekowski of Linden bowled a 686 and bowled above a 200 in each of his 3 games. Senior John Peloso bowled a 498. Westfield is now 2–6 on the season.

According Coach Ralph Corey: “[One strength] of this team [is] the players are versatile. I can move them around in the line-up without their game slipping…. One word I would [use to] describe this team is ‘resilient’. This team always knows how to respond after a poor game.”

The team’s next match is Wednesday against Roselle Catholic.
