Ferraro’s Fire

The fire that broke out on May 4 damaged Ferraro’s and its neighboring businesses, but despite the destruction, Ferraro’s and Anthology are moving forward with support from customers, friends and the Westfield community.

Said DiPietro: “The community is very excited about the availability of the menu at Ferraro’s South. This location is easier to get to because it avoids traffic from town and offers free parking. Our regular customers have said that they were experiencing ‘Ferraro’s withdrawal’ before this new option became available, so we are glad that we can provide our services through this facility.”

Neighboring women’s boutique, Anthology, also sustained smoke damage as a result of the fire and is currently closed for reconstruction. Like Ferraro’s, Anthology has a second store, which is located in Hoboken, N.J.. Anthology is encouraging its customers to shop there until the Westfield store reopens.

According to Anthology manager Nina Mollica, the clothing store is open to special requests and questions via email at [email protected]. Among these special requests, Anthology is setting up personal shopping dates for its preferred customers.
According to junior Sara Shields, who is a regular customer, Anthology offered to make an appointment with her in the Scotch Plains area. At the appointment, she could try on outfits, which would then be personally ordered for her. “It’s great that Anthology is going out of its way to connect with its customers. It really shows that they care about their clients, and I’m looking forward to being able to shop in Westfield again soon,” said Shields.

On behalf of Anthology, Mollica expressed sincere gratitude for the continued love and support of the Westfield area. DiPietro also added that Ferraro’s is appreciative of the community’s assistance and most thankful that no one was injured in the fire.
Said DiPietro: “The community has been unbelievable. Everyone around town has been offering their services to help us.”
To combat the loss of the Elm Street location, Ferraro’s reorganized its other restaurants in order to continue to serve the Westfield area. According to Giuseppe DiPietro, Ferraro’s owner and executive chef, the Ferraro’s South catering site, located at 425 Elmer St. in Westfield, is now offering carry out dining and free delivery in addition to its catering services. The available menu is exactly the same as the original restaurant and includes all pizza orders.
