Project ’79 psychs up for Saturday school

by Elena Arida

Tomorrow, during the half-day session, the Project ‘79 program will be holding an event for all students in the program.
According to Social Studies Teacher Ms. Michelle Stumbers, the students will be competing in various team building activities during an in-school field trip.

Said senior Ashley Black about the event: “It’s a great bonding experience between all the grades.”

She added, “We learn about each other’s strengths by participating in physical and mental challenges, including team races, jeopardy, puzzles, scavenger hunts and other physical activities.”

There is currently a bracket in the Project ‘79 Office, organizing the day’s events.

According to Project ‘79 Director Mr. Peter Horn, there has not been a Saturday session since the 1998–1999 school year.

Said Horn: “P79 will be capitalizing on the extraordinary Saturday session by conducting some community-building and peer leadership activities. We’ll be pulling all our student members for the duration.”
