Three p.m.? It’s definitely snack time. After a long school day, all anyone wants is a tasty snack. It’s hard to find something that’s quick, healthy and delicious, but here are a few of my favorite options.
This option is super tasty and much lighter than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. All you have to do is spread some peanut butter (crunchy or smooth — you decide) on a rice cake and then top it off with a jelly or jam of your choice. My favorite is strawberry but any kind will work. Enjoy!
Mini-Pizza:
This option is perfect for anyone who loves pizza. It’s very easy, and all you need are three ingredients: an English muffin, a tomato, and some cheddar or mozzarella cheese. First, lightly toast the English muffin. Next, cut one slice of tomato and one or two slices of cheese. Then, put the cheese on the warm English muffin to melt it and create a perfect bed for your tomato. Last, enjoy your homemade mini pizza!
Ants on a Log:
If you’re looking for a vegetable snack, here’s a great option. Wash a few stalks of celery and cut them in half. Then, spread peanut butter into the middle of the stalk. (I love chunky peanut butter but you can also use smooth.) Then, place raisins on top of the peanut butter and you’ve got ants on a log!
Very Berry Smoothie:
Who doesn’t love a great smoothie? Here’s the perfect recipe:
- ½ cup strawberries
- ½ cup blueberries
- ½ cup raspberries
- 1 banana
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt
- ½ cup ice cubes
All you have to do is blend everything together until it creates a smooth drink. Pour into a glass and taste the fruity goodness!
