The boys track championship season finished last Wednesday as senior Co-Captain Matt Luppino and the 4×800 relay team advanced to the Meet of Champions. MOC results were not available at press time.
At the Group IV Championship, Luppino placed third in the mile with a time of 4:16.56. The boys 4×800 relay team of Luppino, senior Co-Captain Frankie Pinney, junior Will Chandler and sophomore Nick Antonelli placed fifth with a time of 7:58.95.

Said Luppino: “Group IV is the toughest group in the state, but our guys really stepped up on the biggest stage…. By the time I got the baton, I knew I had to run fast for the rest of the guys, and I left it all on the track.”
Another highlight was the 4×1600 team of senior Dalton Herzog, senior Phil Edwards, junior Matt Russo and sophomore Ryan Siegel’s victory at counties for the fifth straight year.
