With the new school year, the Westfield Public School District has made some changes, many of which affect WHS. Here are some notable changes for the 2013-2014 school year:
-53 new faculty members have been hired in the district, including 15 at WHS.
-Throughout the summer, work was done to replace the roofs at WHS. While this was unable to be completed during the summer, it will be finished this year outside of school hours.
-An armed guard will be on patrol at WHS on school days.
-Planners will not be provided to WHS students.
-Lunch will now take place during Period 4, in addition to the usual Periods 5-8
-Over the summer, WHS’ fiber network hardware was replaced with the goal of increased processing speed for computers
-A plan was devised to update the district website by early next year
