Winter sports wind down

As the cold weather ends, so does the winter sports season; senior athletes reflect on their final winter sports memories.
“I’ll definitely miss the people the most. We have 35 girls on the team and everyone is so close and really supportive of each other. It’s been my favorite part of high school.”
-Amy Liang ‘17, girls swimming
“You run winter in order to prepare for the spring season and allow big things to happen, so I’m excited to get out there with the team and leave everything on the track in the next few months.”
-Jake Triarsi ‘17, boys winter track
“I’ve come to realize that every time I put on my uniform, it’s just one race closer to my high school career ending. It’s heart-wrenching to think about, but my experience on this team is one I wouldn’t trade for the world.”
-Devyn Heinzerling ‘17, girls winter track
“Staying number one in the state for the majority of the season while breaking various records was pretty special. Getting closer with the team and bonding with the guys definitely gave the team a great sense of unity.”
-Aedan Collins ‘17, boys swimming
“It was a goal of mine to score before the end of the season since I won’t be returning next year. I scored in our last game, which was really exciting, but it was even cooler to see how the team came together to help me get there.”
-Emily Greaney ‘17, girls ice hockey
“I’ve grown so close with my teammates over the years and I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity; I’ll never forget it. I’ll be back in the next few years to check up on the team, because I care so much about this program.”
-Zack Rodrigues ‘17, bowling
“After my last game, I had a lot of mixed emotions. In a way I was happy it was over, but also sad that I played my last hockey game.”
-Ethan Finver ‘17, boys ice hockey
“Overall, we had a pretty good season. We only lost to two teams and got the chance to avenge one of those losses in the semi-finals against  New Providence which was awesome. It was pretty upsetting when we didn’t get to beat the Patrick School in the finals, but we just won our first states game so hopefully we do well with that.”
-Casey Popowski ’17, girls basketball
