With numerous theater award nominations, a successful district art show and a European chorus tour, it is clear that WHS has strong arts programs. However, constantly looming over the fine arts department is the vulnerability of its programs when budgets are tight. On the other hand, WHS athletics flourishes because of funding and support gained from community outreach. The creativity of the athletic program’s fundraising could serve as an example for district arts programs.
