Local artists release new work

by Chris McGlynn

The Static Jacks released its second studio album on Sept. 30 titled In Blue, featuring its single “Wallflowers.”

The music video for the single, which was filmed throughout Westfield, was released on Vevo Sept. 18 and has over 70,000 views.  The band consists of singer Ian Devaney, guitarist Henry Kaye and drummer Nick Brennan—who all attended WHS—as well as guitarist Michael Sue-Poi.  In Blue is composed of 11 tracks and can be purchased on iTunes.

English and Journalism Teacher Ms. Rosemary DiBattista released her first book under the pen name Rosie Genova, Murder and Marinara.  The book is the first in the Italian Kitchen Mysteries series, released on Oct. 1, published by the Penguin Group. Set at an Italian restaurant at the Jersey shore, the story features a mystery writer and her quirky family. The next book in the series, The Wedding Soup Murder, is slated for publication in September 2014.
DiBattista will be at The Town Bookstore tomorrow signing books from 2–4 p.m.
