Staffers pick Oscar winners

It’s that time of year again: the Oscars will be airing this Sunday at 8:30 p.m. on ABC, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. In honor of the nominations being released, our staff is presenting its choices for who should take home awards. Check out the Oscars on Sunday to see how our predictions turn out!
Best Picture: American Hustle Christian Bale stars as fictional con-man Irving Rosenfeld, who is coerced into working with rogue FBI agent Richie DiMaso, played by Bradley Cooper, according to imdb.com.

Best Animated Feature Film: Frozen Frozen is a classic Disney tale of fantasy and adventure, set in an icy winter wonderland. It tells the story of Anna, who combats the eternal winter accidentally created by her sister, according to imdb.com.

Best Actor in a Leading Role: Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street DiCaprio stars as Jordan Belfort, Wall Street stockbroker turned con-artist, according to imdb.com. Based on a true story, The Wolf of Wall Street was brought to life by DiCaprio’s energetic performance.

Best Actress in a Leading Role: Amy Adams in American Hustle (with Sandra Bullock in Gravity coming in close second). Adams and Bullock showed incredible talent while starring in completely different films—Adams even mastered a fake British accent!

Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club Leto plays Rayon, an HIV-positive transgender woman who was looking for a cure for her disease, according to examiner.com. In the movie, he appears with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner, who also gave exceptional performances.
